FAQ

What type of business is the Voilà ice-cream showcase designed for?

Voilà ice-cream is a professional fan-assisted display case for artisan gelato. It holds the product in dipping wells (pozzetti) and is intended for gelato shops, bars and cafés that want to display ice-cream attractively while keeping it at serving temperature. It can also be installed in line with the Voilà pastry showcase.

What heights and widths are available for the Voilà ice-cream showcase?

The showcase comes in two heights, 120 and 137 cm. Widths without side panels are 115, 165 and 215 cm; with side panels they become 119, 169 and 219 cm. This range lets you size the display to the available counter space and tub layout.

What temperature does the Voilà ice-cream showcase run at and which class does it meet?

It falls within temperature class 4 (G1), with a range from −10°C to −14°C, in compliance with the UNI EN ISO 23953-2:2016 standard. It is also rated in climate class 4, referring to 30°C ambient temperature and 55% relative humidity, suited to warmer operating environments.

What tub sizes does the showcase take and how are they arranged?

It takes tubs of 36x16.5x12h cm (5 l) or 36x25x12/8h cm (8/5 l), held in place by position-adjustable cross-bars. Depending on the model the layout ranges from 12 up to 24 tubs. The set of tubs is not included and must be ordered separately.

How does the refrigeration system work?

Refrigeration is fan-assisted with automatic reverse-cycle defrosting. Condensate evaporates automatically on showcases with an internal motor; with a remote motor the condensate drain connects to the mains. A silver anodised aluminium front grille is fitted, and a condensate evaporation bowl is available on request.

What condenser units are available and how far can a remote unit be placed?

Condenser units are internal as standard and remote on request. On the 12-tub model the unit is single-phase hermetic up to 10 m, with a three-phase semi-hermetic unit over 20 m; on the 18 and 24-tub models a three-phase semi-hermetic unit is used up to 20 m. This lets you match the unit to the showcase size and installation distance.

How is the showcase body built and what materials are used?

The base is a tubular steel frame finished with epoxy powder coating, with adjustable feet and provision for wheels on request. The body is a single enbloc unit, lined throughout in stainless steel and insulated with injected polyurethane at a density of 38/40 kg/m³, for sturdy construction and consistent thermal performance.

How is the glass made and what are the benefits for the display?

The front glass is tempered and heated, opening downwards for easy access to the tubs. The side glass panels are laminated, tempered and heated. Heating the glass prevents condensation, keeping a clear view of the gelato; the minimal glass design gives an unobstructed view of tubs of every size.

How does the rear of the showcase close?

The rear closes with inclined sliding panels as standard. Alternatively, on the H.120 cm version only, right-angled sliding panels are available as an option. The choice affects operator-side access and the look of the back of the showcase.

What finishes and colours are available for the front panel and side panels?

The front panel and side panels are lacquered in RAL colours, according to the catalogue colour chart. This lets you match the showcase to the venue's décor. For exact codes and shades, refer to the colour chart supplied by Frigomeccanica.

How is the display surface lit?

The shelf areas are lit with high-luminosity LEDs. This high light output makes the colours of the gelato stand out, supporting an attractive, appetising display along the counter front.

Can the Voilà ice-cream showcase be combined in line with other showcases?

Yes, the ice-cream showcase can be installed in line with the Voilà pastry showcase, creating continuous runs that combine gelato and pastry display. This lets you manage more than one department in a single counter configuration that stays visually consistent.

Can the showcase be moved, and what installation options does that involve?

The base is fitted for wheels, supplied on request, alongside the standard adjustable feet, which helps with repositioning and cleaning. For the motor you can choose an internal unit for a self-contained showcase, or a remote unit to move heat and noise away from the sales area.

How is condensate evaporation handled?

With an internal motor, condensate evaporation is automatic, with an evaporation bowl available on request. With a remote motor, the condensate drain must be connected to the mains. The choice depends on the motor configuration and the installation layout.
